4th of July morning on the streets of Old Town Auburn. Pancake breakfast and games for the kids, greased pole, fun for all!

08-08-09 - 08-09-09 Heritage Trail Museums Tour -
The 2nd annual Heritage Trail will be held on August 8 & 9, 2009. Once again 18 participating museums from Roseville to Tahoe are committed to showcasing history in a fun, entertaining way. All the museums will be open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on both days and admittance is FREE. The theme this year is A-Tisket A-Tasket . Bring your picnic basket. We encourage Trail Travelers to bring a picnic and eat at one of the museums designated for picnics.
The tour promises to be a family-friendly event with many hands-on activities for all ages. Visitors can bake biscuits in an 1890s wood stove, jump to the finish line in an old fashioned sack race, explore the wonders of a granite quarry, view the world from a 19thc stage coach, pan for illusive flakes of gold, and listen to Native American stories. Trail Guides will be available at every museum in July and on our website. The museums are grouped in four clusters, and are easy to reach from I-80.

Come on out and have some fun and help us keep the Oldest Operating Post
Office in the West open in Old Town Auburn. Without financial help from the
community, the USPS will close this historic Post Office. Your entry fee of $65 includes 18 holes of golf, cart, tee prizes, and a BBQ New York steak dinner following play. The team scramble format is open to golfers of all skill levels.

Auburn Wine and Food Festival
Old Town and Downtown Auburn
Park your car and taste the wines from 25 foothill boutique wineries while strolling the streets of this historic Gold Rush community.
Placer County wineries — Ophir Wines, Pescatore Winery, Mt. Vernon Winery, Secret Ravine Winery, Fawnridge Winery, Dono Dal Cielo, Lone Buffalo, Hyatt Baumbach and Viña Castellano will be joined by other foothill wineries — Naggiar Vineyard & Winery, Pilot Peak Winery, Sierra Vista, Solune and David Girard, will be pouring during the 2007 Auburn Wine Festival. Several of these wineries are not open to the public so this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to sample these wines.
Musicians will be providing non-stop music in the streets.
Tickets are priced at $35 each and may be purchased in advance. Late-comers will still be welcome but the price for tickets purchased after October 1st, 2009, will be $45. Of course, all ticket holders must be 21 years of age or older.

The annual Mountain Mandarin Festival celebrates the new crop of delicious, locally grown Mandarin oranges, a Mandarin Recipe cooking contest, professional chef demonstrations, food, crafts and activities featuring the Mandarin orange, free children’s area, live music and entertainment.
Placer County growers will sell thousands of pounds of fresh Mandarin oranges. Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund of the Newcastle Area Business Association.
Try chocolate covered fresh Mandarins, an 18” waffle cone filled with Mandarin gelato, Mandarin glazed almonds, and dozens of other Mandarin inspired concoctions.
